Cheap Meat

Even though we’ve been trying to cut back on meat lately (both for health and for budget), there are a few ways to get good meat on a budget. If you have a Trader Joe’s near you, they now offer their hormone-free ground beef for only $1.99/lb. It’s also packaged in 1 pound portions, so it helps you with portion control and is great for freezing!

If you don’t have a Trader Joe’s around, ask the butcher in your grocery store for their Market Ground Beef. Each day, they take cuts of fresh meat leftover from cuts they didn’t package and turn it into ground beef. It’s typically the freshest ground beef in the store and usually better cuts of meat are used. This can also typically be found for $1.99/lb. So whether it’s tacos, chili, or spaghetti and meatballs, it pays to have some ground beef on hand for those go to meals!
